clutch ???

A forum for discussing applications and implementations of the MegaShift transmission controller code for the GPIO from B&G. This can control up to 8-speeds and 6 shift solenoids (plus a 16x9 table for controlling a PWM line pressure valve). It has manual and fully automatic modes (16x9 load x speed table), with under and over rev-limit protection, and full data logging of all inputs and outputs (among many other abilities). A TransStim to test your completed board is also available.

clutch ???

Post by ar99kid »

i am thinking about this : is it possible with the GPIO board to have a button for a "clutch" ? for drifting purpose , even if you have a lot of power to the wheels , there is the need for a burst in transmission . it would be nice to have a momentary push button to disengage the transmission and rev the engine similar to a clutch...and when released the transmission to come back in the same gear...

does anybody thought of this or have some info ? thanks !

ar99kid,

Many (most?) automatic transmissions do not allow you to select neutral using the control solenoids, it has to be done using the shift lever.
