VSS Filter logic.

A forum for discussing applications and implementations of the MegaShift transmission controller code for the GPIO from B&G. This can control up to 8-speeds and 6 shift solenoids (plus a 16x9 table for controlling a PWM line pressure valve). It has manual and fully automatic modes (16x9 load x speed table), with under and over rev-limit protection, and full data logging of all inputs and outputs (among many other abilities). A TransStim to test your completed board is also available.

Tobmag, ashford;

I'll pick some of these up in the next week or so, and post here when I have some ready to send out.

well attached a log of the LM2907 circuit on both ISS and VSS, both inputs gets the same signal here on the bench since my function generator only has 1 output.

This is a sweep from 1hz to 2000hz over 50sec. signal is rock steady, input masking is set to 0 !!

Next up will be the max9926 circuit

Tobmag,

I have ordered the parts mentioned above (2907 and 1124). If you want either or both of them, PM me with a shipping address and I will get them in the mail.

Others who would like to test should do the same (you must have a GPIO installed with MShift controlling the transmission in a functioning vehicle, otherwise please don't ask for these samples).

I have done some test with the max9926 circuit and its working as a dream here on my bench.
Probably the smothest signal I seen so far.

Stacked everything up and did some test in the car.

Here the fun stopped, probably the most sensitive circuit on the market it manage to pick every sort of noice making the the output signal useless.
Now this is my install might be that it will work fine for others.

I can post some logs from the bench test if enyone is interested, didnt bother to make any log in the car.

Tobmag,

Yeah, that's always the trouble: finding the 'sweet spot' between getting the full signal from the sensor but rejecting all of the noise. Did you experiment with any of the masking in the code on the car?

No I didnt bother about that, I spent so much time with the MicroTCU that uses the same circuit and same problem....

Hi Tobmag.
As I am willing to "megashift" a gearbox, I am a bit afraid of facing the same problems.
However: I had some issues with the VR input on the V3 board as well (above all at cold starts in winter when the starter acts a bit clumsy).
Since I converted to some of the "Dual VR boards" (AFAIK there are at least two dealers that offer that) based on the MAX9926, it works like a charm. Maybe this is of any help for you?

I assume you use them for engine speed? That will be a completly different story since it will never see any "low" frequenses.

I have the dual bord from the Canadian guy, this one is not in any way working in my car....on the bench perfectly.

Gui76 here at the forum has the same board and have issues as well.

I just recieved the NCV1124 circuit from Lance so will have that testsed in a week or so.

Thanks for the heads up anyway.
