Sources for finding trans component specs and info
http://www.rostra.com/transmissions.htm - download the catalog, has specs on many components and picture images as well as harness pigtail info
http://www.transgo.org/ - sign up for the one day free trial for tech tips, has lots of pinout info for connectors and sensor specs etc.
http://www.transtarindustries.com/catView.asp?ID=444 - transtar trans rebuilding parts (all over the US) you can order electrical parts from here and pick up locally in most metropolitan areas for less usually than online specialty sites
http://www.bulkpart.com/Merchant2/merch ... ore_Code=2 - about the least expensive online trans parts site I've found if you are familiar with hard parts or know what electrical parts you need. Not the most user friendly interface.
http://www.sonnax.com/tech_info.php - good tech tips for transmission related issues that may or not be related to elecronic control
Enjoy!

Re: Sources for finding trans component specs and info
I can vouch for bulkpart.com. I bought a master rebuild kit and Transgo stage 2 kit for a TH400 earlier this year, and they were the cheapest source for this sort of thing (at least for consumers - I'm certain a professional could get a better deal somewhere). When the time comes to freshen up my 4L80E for the MegaShift project, I'll shop there again.
One small addition: The ATSG web site allows you to buy electronic copies of their manuals:
