A340 , will it work?

Hi all, I'm new on here and fairly new to megashift in general so please go easy
Right... I'm wanting to put a Lexus 1uz-fe in my off roader and want to megasquirt the motor, but standard the stock ecu controls the gearbox too. Basically can / will megashift run the gearbox ok? Has it been done before? I've done a fair bit of googling and not really found a definitive answer! From what I've read it seems the box has 2 solenoids for gear changes, one for TC lockup and a 4th which lowers line pressure during shifts. I think it's this 4th solenoid that has caused people problems with other standalone tcu's but I see mshift has the option of extra outputs which can only be active during shifts, but I'm not sure if the 4th solenoid would be just on for the duration of the shift or if is pwm depending on various parameters? Ideal solution would be to scope the solenoids on the stock vehicle and see how it behaves but my engine and box are not in a vehicle :/

When you want them to be on for just for the duration of a shift, the spare ports should be configured as 'clutch outputs'.

The spare port PWM% when ON (i.i when shifting) is set by a table (12x1 table for spare port 1 and 2, and a 16 x 9 table for spare port 0). The PWM frequency is user settable (within limits, of course). You can set the PWM percent from 0 to 100%. You can choose the indexes for these tables, so they can be indexed by speed, load, rpm, and/or temperature. See: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V41tune.html#s for more details.

If you don't need variable PWM%, you can set the entire table to the same value, such as 100%. You can also set the PWM% when the output is not active (i.,e. not shifting) - normally this would be 0% but it might be another value depending on your application and driver circuit. For example, to invert the output, you might set the table to all zeros, and the off value to 100%.

Ideal thanks for that, sorry only just seen you had replied, forgot I had to use my work email to register on here so hadn't seen the topic reply notification email! Have also heard there is another variation of the same gearbox on a soarer which doesn't have the pwm valve which would make life easier.
Will have to be a Guinnea pig and see what happens!

Any vendor that gets their boards directly from Bowling and Grippo can also order GPIO boards from B&G (there may be minimum quantities, though). Many smaller volume MegaSquirt vendors get their stock wholesale from DIYAutoTune, and can order GPIO boards for you from DIYAutoTune with their usual stock order.
