Running a 4L60E with default settings.

A forum for discussing applications and implementations of the MegaShift transmission controller code for the GPIO from B&G. This can control up to 8-speeds and 6 shift solenoids (plus a 16x9 table for controlling a PWM line pressure valve). It has manual and fully automatic modes (16x9 load x speed table), with under and over rev-limit protection, and full data logging of all inputs and outputs (among many other abilities). A TransStim to test your completed board is also available.

Running a 4L60E with default settings.

Post by ka24deroadster »

I am hooking up a MSII and a GPIO to my 1996 LT1 with a 4L60E tranny. Everything I have read says that the default settings for the GPIO is for the 4L60E. Can I just run the default settings and not have to worry about them?

ka24,

I would review them against the manual: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V2tune.html, if this was mine. You will learn about how the system as a whole works, what options you have to adjust things, and how it should all be wired. There are also some optional setting for spare outputs, etc. that you may have to adjust (since they aren't necessarily targeted at any one trans), depending on what you hope to use them for.
