Searched through hours and hours of info and still cant seem to find what im needing


I am just in the test stages of using Megashift2.2 on a 4t65ehd. Everything seems to be functioning correctly but a few things.

First off the inputs seem to not be tell the megashift the right things because the gear indicator is never right except in reverse.

The next thing is it is always in auto mode. I have tried over and over and cant get it in to manual shift mode. I will be running the car 99% of the time in this mode but cant get it to.work.

Also is there a way to see which outputs are being triggered.

Im new to the whole thing so go easy on me lol

Also if there is anyone that has access to the service maunal for this tranny or has any info it would be great

It sounds like your input settings may not be correct for your trans. See: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V22tune.html#i. Similarly, check the shift buttons (especially the polarity setting, see: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V22tune.html#gi

On the other hand, it is possible that the circuits are not built or connected properly. Check that you have jumpers on the required pins on the 25x2 header. If those are there, there check the shift inputs circuits against the build instructions. Remember that the inputs are grounded by the trans, makes sure that's what your trans is doing.

You can look at the 'solst' variable in the datalog to see the status of the outputs: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V22tune.html#gi. There is a gauge for this called 'solst' (labeled 'Solenoids').

Ok i still havent got the parts to build the Transtim hoping monday.

But anyways i did some testing and playing a little today and seems like i may have a board problem or software....

I got the manual shifting to work right just still cant get the inputs to work. I attached a picture with the range selector info. It use four inputs, so i have the 4th input enabled and inputs tables set to what they should be but still nothing. so i tried just grounding the input wires directly still nothing... maybe im missing something. i posted a picture showing all the input volts and all the inputs (low/high) when sitting in park(which doesnt change in any gear)

I posted a wiring diagram for the tranny and the only differences are the input wires which i have set to what mine is and it works on the tranny check ohms between the input wires and ground and it follows the table i posted.

The other difference in wiring is pin S which is for the 3-2sol which my tranny doesnt have its used for an iss but i dont need it and so i left pin s unhooked

Here is some of the Tranny info:
Ratios:
1st 2.92:1
2nd 1.56:1
3rd 1:1
4th (OD) 0.70:1
Reverse 2.38:1
Final Ratio: 2.93:1

Im just lost the car 100% ready to drive minus the megashift just really looking for help how to test the circuts on the board..... just figure the problem out and get the car driving

The stim is the best way to test the circuits. Once you get the stim built, you should be able to tell what is going on both in the controller and the trans. Then the best way to troubleshoot the circuits if there is a problem on the stim is to compare the board and components to the build instructions and schematics.

Hey i have everything working great eveything seems to tuned in well but is there a way i can lock it in to manual mode for track use? the problem im having is sometime on a launch the tires will break loose and casue the rpm to peg and the tranny to shift through gears then it bogs and i loose boost once it hooks because its normally lands in 3rd when they spin. it seems like when i come to the staging lanes and i stop it switches from manual mode to auto mode and i dont have time to switch modes in the 1/4mile

If you have 'RPM Checking' enabled, and you hit the 'Upper Rev Limit', you will always go to auto mode. This a a safety thing. You need to set your rpm limit higher so the trans doesn't go into auto mode (set it at least 100 or 200 rpm higher than the maximum you ever hope to see). Either that, or disable the rpm checking. Both of these are under 'General Settings->RPM Limits' (see: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V22tune.html#gr). Then when you start in manual mode, you will stay in manual mode for the whole run.

The rpm checking isn't intended as a 'rev-limiter'. It is really there to prevent accidental downshifts into too low a gear, but it will force an upshift if the rpm gets too high.

The manual mode is activated by a short press (¼ second or so, depending on your shift settings) on either shift button. You don't have time to do that? I suppose you could wire one of the shift buttons into the brake switch (assuming it supplies ground and not 12V). I would put it through a separate toggle switch so you can turn that function off when desired.

I could also do a new release of the code(s) that makes the switch to auto-mode optional. Give me a day or two to look at that.

Ok those tips helped. but i wish i had a way to know it was in manual mode with out the computer in my lap. Maybe a output to turn a light on.....? also i like the idea of a setting to lock it in to manual mode if this is at all possibe.

and i do have time to hit the button going down the track its just try to guess if it stayed in manual mode or jumped back to auto mode when staging the car. If it did go to auto mode i have to remember to hit the button before the shift light or it wont shift and i hit the rev limiter. Then if it stayed in manual mode and i press the button to switch modes and it shifts to 2nd.

I have a race this coming weekend just curious if a code change could happen before then if not its ok ill figure a way to make it work. But the idea of a LED coming on when in manual mode would really help

We don't really have any outputs left to turn a 'manual mode indicator' on. I could easily have all the LEDs flash in manual mode (like it does it reverse now). I will add this to the code (along with options for when auto mode is entered and two-point pressure sensor definitions). I will try to get this done before the weekend, but I can't promise.

If you had all the leds blink how will you be able to tell which gear your in? Also could you just use one of the spare outputs. Make it as an option to pick?
