TPS or MAP 4l60e

Hi All,
I recently purchased the GPIO but haven't yet received it, I want to set it up as a standalone unit to run the 4l60e with a S/C 3.8L V6. The PCM that is in the car at the moment isn't easy to change the transmission values and you need software and equipment that I can't get a hold of to flash the PCM and I haven't yet found a tuner that can set up my auto properly.

So with this unit, does it use VSS compared to either TPS or MAP to apply the shift table or does it do it some other way? I ask this as I will not be using the CAN bus.
If this is the cae, what is the better option to get more accurate results? Does anyone have an MSQ file for the 4l60e that I can have a look at before my kit arrives?

Ben,

The MShift code has a 12x12 target gear table. The rows are load based (MAP or TPS or any 0-5V signal), while the columns are speeds (mph or kph). There is more here: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/tuning.html

Both the load and the tach signal can be non-CAN sourced, for the details see: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/V4tune.html#gn

In general, MAP is a better reflection of load than TPS.
