I have also re-built the VB2 circuit removing the diod and installed a 1k ohm resistor between the banded end and +12v.
This will trigger the tacho nicly rather then with the original SP2 build, not working with a floating signal.
The code is working as it should and I can set the pointer spot on where I want it by just changing the frequency.
As soon as I have the gauge ready Ill post a video here.

tobmag,

Yeah, the VB circuits aren't designed for signalling as the default build, so some modifications are necessary. I'm glad you got this sorted out.

I apologize that I have been slow to respond. That is because I was having a mysterious issue with the downshift button function, and I have been digging deep into the code/circuits/stim/etc. to try to figure out what went wrong, only to eventually realize that I somehow managed to burn out an ADC pin on the processor (after many wasted hours...).

Lance,

Welcome to the club, I manage to burn my down shift pin on the processor as well.
Its now always reads as its pressed.
Everythings seems to be working in auto mode anyway.

Tobmag,

That is a very odd coincidence. It makes me think I need to look much more closely into the cause of this (which I will do).
