GPIO documentation errors?

Post by Philip Lochner »

It seems to me that the connections between PWMx outputs and AMPSEAL pins are not documented here: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/pwm.htm

It seems the component table on that page also refers to "VBx" circuits rather than PWMx circuits.

I also believe that the AMP pin no's for the VBx outputs are wrong. I recon they should be:
VB1 PE0 (input only) 11
VB2 PA0 12
VB3 PE4 23
VB4 PM2 35
Best regards
Philip

Philip,

Yes, you are right, of course. The page referred to the VBx circuits and the Ampseal connections weren't there, but the components numbers were correct for the PWMx circuits (which may be why it wasn't mentioned previously).

And you are right about the VBx Ampseal numbering, of course.

These documents hadn't been edited since 2007 when the GPIO was being laid out (so the pins assignments were still in flux then) but that's no excuse for not fixing them once everything was known.

I have corrected these mistakes now, thanks!

BTW, the most up-to-date reference for the ports/pins is this one: http://www.msgpio.com/manuals/mshift/portspins.html
