Re: issues connecting to GPIO

Lance, thanks for taking time. My conclusion is the same as yours. I'll try to get one today and see what happens.

issues connecting to GPIO

it's an assembled GPIO MShift. There have been some previous issues, but thought to have them all resolved. Now using a 12V battery to power the board, USB to serial adapter, homemade serial cable. This stuff all worked in the past. Now have 12V on pin1 of the voltage regulator, 0 on Pin 2, but no 5...

location /URL for GPIO schematic?

finally after these many moons I'm ready to fix my damaged GPIO. I used to be able to find the schematic that showed the circuit arout D4 and MOV1, but I can't find it now. I looked in the schematic section but no joy?

Re: Speedo out to drive DC motor

Wow, tobmag, you are the MAN! I've been off here for a few weeks while I built a couple engines, a Chevy 12 bolt posi rear and an M-22Z muncie conversion. I trashed my GPIO while sanding off the end to get it in the case. Fried a couple components, lifted a pad, etc, etc. same old sad story. But now...

tobmag,

have you seen any evidence of Lance or forum admins logged on here recently? kinda looks like the activity has really died off here.

Re: Speedo out to drive DC motor

would this be of interest? use PWM 0 - 5V to control 12V motor.

Re: Speedo out to drive DC motor

Wow, tobmag, are you a genius or what? I've been wanting to find some way to do this ever since I first found a nice 4L60E. I have a 57 Chev pickup with 327 V-8 the tranny is going into, I would dearly love to keep the stock speedo working. I checked out the commercially available units and was gagg...

Re: Is this the MSGPIO support forum?

Well dang. I left this thing sit on my bench for 8 months, went to finish it off and I'm back where I started. No connect at all, no matter what. did all the rest of the build, OK it seems. hardest part was soldering those two tiny transistors. Itried to run TS on it, can't find the processor. Comms...

Re: Is this the MSGPIO support forum?

Should have mentioned, that was homemade serial cable using CAT5 network cable. The wire colors are completely arbitrary.
