Re: Sheriff left town?

Coincided with the death of my AA80E project, I hope that was not a causative factor.

Re: AA80E 8-speed

Been awhile. Like all before me I punted. Yanked out the 8 speed and installed a T5 instead. At least I get to drive the car. I still have everything. I can either set up a test bench and eventually try to get it right, or sell it all off piecemeal. No immediate decisions. Of interest, Cadillac used...

Selection of output 1/2 or output 3?

For a PWM output that requires a background low level PWM signal of 5-20%, and then a momentary high level PWM signal of 80-100% during shift events: What output would be the best choice? Spare Outputs 1 and 2 or Output 3 maybe? Can output 3 even be configured that way? Would the Dither or similar f...

Re: AA80E 8-speed

Lance, Could we maybe back up to about page 22 or thereabouts and reset? At that point we were working with v5.290t3 and we got off on this tangent about DDRT and coding. I'll be perfectly honest, I do not want to learn to write code. I really don't. I admire you greatly for your ability to do that....

Enable extra solenoids in TS?

In my shift outputs pattern dialog everything below output 3 is greyed out. The chart goes up to output 11 and I need some or all of those outputs. How do I enable them?

Re: AA80E 8-speed

I think I'm beginning to see why Matthew made disparaging remarks about the codewarrior editor. It seems to be so far behind DevC as a code writing tool as to be in the stone age. Perhaps not, maybe I'll learn it has other virtues, but right now those are not apparent. For instance DevC has auto fun...

Re: AA80E 8-speed

I'm not sure if you can just run a "C" program in codewarrior to test the code. We couldn't figure out how to do it, though there may be a tutorial somewhere that shows it. I'm a reluctant student, but will try to look for it. In the meantime I've downloaded DevCpp so I can do the examples...

Re: AA80E 8-speed

I have news. It is now possible to download nxp's evaluation version of the IDE and have a 64K compiler limit. In 30 days it will revert to the free version. I do not know yet if it then retains the 64K limit but will report back here if it does. This is very important news for us, since the file si...

Re: AA80E 8-speed

Yeah, it's the only configuration I could come up with that made sense. Maybe after I get it to work I can get another solenoid, which would give me 2 more gears. The code... well that's a non-starter right there. It has a $1000 program just to compile it. So even if you do know C it's a big barrier...

Re: AA80E 8-speed

It looks like I can pull the jumpers for outputs S3 and S5, which currently are configured for solenoid SL3 and SL4, powering clutch C3 and brake B1. That will leave me with the following gears: 1st: 4.596:1 4th: 1.464:1 5th: 1.231:1 and 6th: 1.000:1 Not a good gear spread and no overdrive, but at l...
