Problem burning up D8

All, I have been very successful in turning D8 into a resistor with values ranging from 180 - 450 ohms. This causes the converter to lock up very shortly after the shift to second and remain locked until the shift back to first (very harsh shifts to say the least). I believe that it is probably bein...

Re: Speedometer output for Ford Speedo

Just an FYI, I ended up using a speedometer box made by Dakota Digital (SGI-5) to resolve this issue. It is outputting the 8000 ppm sine wave that is required by the speedometer and also sending a signal to the gpio. Not sure of the ppm on this but I had to change the wheel tooth count to 49 to get ...

Re: Example shift tables wanted

Lance, As always, thanks for the response. Not sure why but I have not been happy with the default shift table. It seems to shift late at low load. May have something to do with the different ratios in the 4l80 compared to the 4l60 or the fact that the engine is not completely tuned yet. Has anyone ...

Example shift tables wanted

Everyone,
I would like to see some working shift tables for a 4l80e if anyone has them. I am running an LQ4 v8 (6 liter) with the 4l80e in a ~3400 lb car with a 3.08 rear. Any examples would be appreciated. I am having trouble figuring out where to place my bins.

Thanks

Chris

Re: input masking problem

Lance, I checked the circuit and everything was correct according to the 4l80e build instructions. After checking everything I modified the circuit and built it according to the 4l60e build instructions. The 4l60e instructions have a different value resistor in R45 and R37 - not sure why this is. Th...

Re: Speedometer output for Ford Speedo

Also, according to the schematic, the speedometer is normally driven directly from a vr sensor in the transmission. It drives the speedo, the cruise control and an engine control computer input. I have driven the speedometer from the function generator with a sine wave and a square wave with no prob...

Speedometer output for Ford Speedo

Has anyone been able to get the speedo output to work with a ford speedometer ('98 mustang specifically)? I have not been able to get this to work. When I drive the speedo directly from a function generator everything works fine but the msgpio output does not even make the needle wiggle. During this...

Re: input masking problem

Lance,
Thanks for the response. I have the minimum speed set to 3mph (the default, I believe). Is this reasonable or should it be changed?

input masking problem

I am having a problem with the input masking setting. I seems that every setting that I try below 100 will sometimes cause low speed values. This is repeatable on the bench as well. In the car it varied, sometimes when pulling away from a stop it would be correct and sometimes the speed would be 1/3...
