Re: Smoked D3

That is what I thought. Replaced and seems to work fine. Thanks. On a side note, looks like I got my VSS signal to even out on my 4L80E by adding a .04uf capacitor onto the signal coming in. Was having all kinds of problems and seems to have worked. Had a .07 uf on there and it fixed the low speed e...

Smoked D3

So I have been running my system for about a year now but still having some VSS issues. Took out the board and changed a capacitor on my VSS circuit and then hooked it up to my TranStim and D3 got real hot and started smoking. I checked my power supply and it was giving 16.8 volts at the time, been ...

100% Line pressure

Ok now that I have everything else working great, there is just one last problem. The system at times will stick at 100% line pressure in any forward gear, then at times it is perfect. Makes for interesting shifts into 2nd behind this diesel. When I pull up the table while driving the dot that shows...

Re: 4L80E code

Lance,

I uploaded this code and in park "current gear" shows 0 but "manual gear" shows -99 and is stuck there no matter what gear you put it into. Everything else looks fine.

Re: 4L80E code

My 4l80e install will do the same thing if I put it into neutral while driving. It seems to stall the code for the shifting, stopping and putting into Park will get it shifting again. I will try the code you posted.

Re: non-CANbus will not come out of bottom of shift table

Well I built the NCV1124 circuit as per ashford's diagram and can't seem to get it to trigger at all, so I spent some time adding a capacitor to the input signal without the chip to try and dampen the low frequency. It seemed to work for now after a short drive, no more spikes to 100 right after mov...

Re: non-CANbus will not come out of bottom of shift table

Been there done that on the tips page. VSS is very stable after about 5mph so it is the very low frequency pulse problem that others seem to have. I just ordered some of the chips referenced in other posts and other stuff from digikey today to get these two input circuits working correctly, other th...

Re: non-CANbus will not come out of bottom of shift table

Thanks for the info. I did read your particular problems with your VSS and I know my problem stems from that circuit. Attached is a log of the problem of the spiking VSS causing shifting fluctuations. Just happened to have my laptop at the time. The log is just around town driving with slow accelera...

Re: non-CANbus will not come out of bottom of shift table

My load values are right on where they should be so the Multiplier shouldn't be a factor. Everything looks stable as far as VSS, Tach, Gear Input and Output, and Gear selected. Just doesn't make sense that pulling over and putting in Park then shifting to Drive will make it go away. Doesn't look goo...
