Re: Anyone in So Cal able to assist with tuning?

Also my offer to pay for help stands even if the VSS gets working. If nothing else, I'd love to have a second set of eyes look this over.

Re: Anyone in So Cal able to assist with tuning?

Ok, will try the DRAC next.

How about the serial connection? Pin 17 is the sensor ground, currently I have it connected to the trans temp sensor ground, serial comm ground (DB9 pin5), line pressure ground, AND VSS.
Can I move the serial ground to chassis ground?

Anyone in So Cal able to assist with tuning?

Hi all, I'm stuck and could use some expert eyes on the project. Is there anyone in the So Cal area who'd be willing to assist? I'm willing to pay shop rates at this point. Vehicle is a 2000 Jeep Wrangler with a VW 1.9 TDI mated to a 4L65e. There's a MSGPIO/MegaShift controller built per the B&G...

Re: Need some help with Load & tach in a diesel

Lance, I think there's a conversion error somewhere in the line pressure table. I get good data on 2 point calcs, but the table is off by about 100

Re: Need some help with Load & tach in a diesel

At this point I have what feels like a driveable tune on the transmission and calibrated the pedal scaling. Thank you Lance for all the help on this! Here's my next round of questions: 4. If I build up VR3 as in the last paragraph on this page, will that work for reading a 0-2.5V tone? http://www.ms...

This is my arrangement for the VSS & Tach signals. A little convoluted but its mostly working.

Re: Need some help with Load & tach in a diesel

I got it - I had a 4WD correction factor in there, but should not have. In my setup the vss is on the output adapter between the 4L65 and the NP241. I don't have gauges yet so I read the tach off serial/CAN from the VW ECM - I was able to hold 3 speeds (2000, 3000, 3800), and saw that vss was consis...

Need some help with Load & tach in a diesel

I'm having trouble with setting up the load and tach. The application is a VW 1.9L TDI, 4L65e adapted to a NP241OR transfer case in a Jeep. The rear end is up on jackstands and the front driveshaft is out while I figure this out. I can't get it over 20 mph like this, and I think it has to do with th...

Re: No signal from VSS and Line Pressure is odd

This was solved, problem was the sensor not deep enough. The 5/8-18 thread in the output adapter had a burr that stopped the sensor about 1/4" out, so there was no signal. Chased the thread, put it back in, and it worked fine. A Fluke 116 with the frequency setting does a great job of reading t...

Re: No signal from VSS and Line Pressure is odd

Thanks, I may have a problem with my sensor. I made a pigtail to hook my tstim into the harness. I'm using a 4-pin connector for the pressure sensor and the VSS. VSS & sensor ground connect at pin 2 and this is where I connected the Tstim. https://lh3.googleusercontent.com/-h_xaJKC84Xs/Ve2dOb2bb...
